Every year shoppers spend millions of dollars to buy Christmas gifts for their family and friends. Each year we hear how people are in a financial bind because of credit card purchases, many of those purchases are for Christmas gifts. There is a simpler way than putting yourself in debt when buying for loved ones.

This year isn’t any different, as a matter of fact it’s the worst it’s been in decades. So what are you to do this year when it comes time to buy Christmas gifts? As I’ve heard over the years of growing up, “it’s the thought that counts”, and that is more true than one would imagine. Some of the best gifts that I’ve received over the years were the ones that had more consideration put into the gift.

Similar cards were also being made in the United States at about the same time by R.H. Pease, in Albany, New York, and Louis Prang, who was a German immigrant. The idea of sending the greeting cards during Christmas gained popularity in both countries about 10 years later when new postal delivery services started.
